How to Install a Pool Fence on Pavers Without Concrete Footings
Pavers can shift over time—so when installing a pool fence, you need a method that’s both secure and flexible.

Recommended Installation Methods
1. Surface-Mounted Base Plates
- Base plates are anchored through pavers into the concrete/paver base
- Requires a stable bedding base or compacted gravel below
2. Core-Drill and Set in Concrete Footers
- Pavers are removed at post locations
- Posts are core-drilled into newly poured concrete piers
Meeting Michigan Pool Fence Code
Ensure your install includes:
- Minimum 4′ height
- No gaps >4″
- Self-closing gate mechanisms
